Carbon Steel is More Commonly Used Than Any Other Metal
Federal Steel Supply stocks seamless carbon steel pipe up to 36" in outside diameter. In addition, welded carbon steel pipe is inventoried through 48" OD.
Seamless & Welded Carbon Products
Seamless steel pipe and tubing is stocked in outer diameters (OD’s) through 36”, ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipe, including rolled and welded pipe and spiral-weld pipe, is stocked in OD’s through 48”.
As a specialist in schedule and non-schedule heavy wall pipe and tubing, Federal Steel inventories multiple specifications, including:
- API 5L (X-grades)
- ASTM (A106 B/C, A53, A519, A513 Type 5 DOM)
- ASME specifications
See below for more detailed information about our grades and specifications.
Specifications & Grades
Size Range: ½” nominal through 60” OD.
Wall Thickness: up through 4” thick & heavier upon request.
A-106/SA-106 seamless pipe is one of our most popular products. We carry Schedules STD - XXH & Sch 160.
This American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specification covers seamless steel pipe for high temperature service in the size range of 1/8” NPS to 48” NPS.
Federal Steel Supply is a stocking distributor of carbon steel pipes to this specification in sizes from 1/4” NPS to 36” NPS, specializing in heavy wall pipe.
Seamless steel pipe ordered under this specification is suitable for bending, flanging, forming, and welding. Key applications for A106 and SA106 include refineries, power plants, boilers, ship building, and other specialized applications. Pressure pipe applications also include heat exchangers, condenser and boilers.
This is an ASME specification covering manufacture and installation of pressure piping and is tightly regulated by the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Pressure piping is generally pipe that must carry pressures greater than 10 to 25 atmospheres, although definitions vary.
To ensure safe operation of the system, the manufacture, storage, welding, testing, etc. of pressure piping must meet stringent quality standards.
