History
Federal Steel Supply was founded by three aspiring pipe salesmen who had a vision to service industrial markets with “hard to find” heavy wall pipe sizes coupled with extra value services not commonly provided in the industry. Hence, Dan Smith, Brian Shinkle and Vern Smith founded Federal Steel Supply in 1979. At the time, their primary focus was on the power generation industry, as coal fired power plants were the mainstay in the energy market.
Expertise
Through the years, and as our market expertise grew, we shifted more of our selling efforts to include the Oil & Gas industry, Pipe Fabricators, Ship Builders and OEM’s. As a result, our inventory grew to include more sizes and specifications to handle our ever-changing customer’s needs.
