This American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specification covers seamless steel pipe for high temperature service in the size range of 1/8” NPS to 48” NPS. Federal Steel Supply is a stocking distributor of carbon steel pipes to this specification in sizes from ¼” NPS to 36” NPS, specializing in heavy wall pipe. Seamless steel pipe ordered under this specification is suitable for bending, flanging, forming, and welding. Key applications for A106 and SA106 include refineries, power plants, boilers, ship building, and other specialized applications. SA-106 Grade B/C
This is an ASME specification covering manufacture and installation of pressure piping and is tightly regulated by the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Pressure piping is generally pipe that must carry pressures greater than 10 to 25 atmospheres, although definitions vary. To ensure safe operation of the system, the manufacture, storage, welding, testing, etc. of pressure piping must meet stringent quality standards.
